DR Welding & Construction opened its doors in 1982. Located near Fredericksburg in the Texas Hill Country, the business started modestly with a single welder on the back of a truck. Originally, DR Welding primarily provided all kinds of welding for farms and ranches such as fences, barns, cattle pens and other off-premises jobs.

Since 1993, however, the focus shifted primarily to metal buildings – large and small – using only #1 American-made materials.
